What Lincoln usually asks for

That is what Lincoln tends to ask for. The full range is on the table regardless. Every system we install is available here, and the right one is chosen from the slab in front of us rather than from a list.

Flake Epoxy Flooring

With the Honda plant and speedway traffic driving the town, flake epoxy flooring earns its place in Lincoln.

Broadcasting to refusal is what makes the finish consistent. A light scatter leaves thin spots that show as blotches once the clear coat goes over them.

The chip does real work beyond looks. It builds texture underfoot, and it hides the small variations in a slab that a solid color would put on display.

The texture gives you grip when the floor is wet, without feeling rough. Chips and scuffs disappear into the pattern instead of standing out.

Polished Concrete

In Lincoln, polished concrete is a frequent answer, largely down to newer subdivision construction and industrial buildings.

Polishing is mechanical, not a coating. We run diamond tooling across the slab in steps, each one finer than the last, and the gloss comes from the concrete closing up rather than from anything we put on it.

A densifier goes down partway through the grit sequence. It reacts with the free lime in the slab and hardens the surface from within, which is what keeps a polished floor from dusting the way bare concrete does.

Sweeping and an occasional damp mop is the entire maintenance routine. Nothing to reapply. There is no wax and no topcoat to peel.

Concrete Resurfacing

Lincoln asks about concrete resurfacing often, and newer subdivision construction and industrial buildings is the reason.

Once the overlay has cured it can be stained, sealed, or textured, so a driveway that was only ever gray can come back as something else entirely.

An overlay is a thin layer of polymer modified cement bonded over the slab you already have. Structurally the old concrete keeps doing its job. The overlay gives you a fresh surface to finish.

It gives you a clean canvas for stain or a coating. Far less cost and disruption than tear out and replacement.

Lincoln and the floors in it

You will find Lincoln on I-20 near the speedway, and we cover it the same as anywhere else.

Because Lincoln is newer subdivision construction and industrial buildings, the conversation usually starts with what is already on the concrete.

Because of the Honda plant and speedway traffic, there is a steady mix of residential and working buildings.

Lincoln sits close enough to Talladega, Sylacauga, Childersburg that we frequently run them together.

Situated on I-20 near the speedway, Lincoln draws its character from the Honda plant and speedway traffic.

Flake epoxy goes in most garages. Polished concrete goes in most open commercial spaces. Urethane cement goes where it is wet.

The slab underneath

Control joints and cracks get dealt with before any finish goes down in Lincoln, the same as everywhere. A joint that still moves will telegraph through a surface finish, and we would rather say so up front.

Grinding also shows us what the slab is actually like under whatever is on it.

We open the slab with diamond tooling so the coating keys in rather than sitting on top.

Sometimes the honest answer is that a slab is not worth coating. If a crack is still moving, if sections have dropped, or if there is water coming up through the concrete with nowhere to go, a coating will fail and take your money with it. We would rather tell you that in Lincoln than sell you a floor twice.

We quote the floor first, in person. Once you accept, the install gets booked as a block rather than squeezed between other jobs, because a resin floor cannot be half finished and left overnight. For a Lincoln job that usually means we hold consecutive days and give you the dates up front.

Clear the room before we arrive. For a garage that means everything off the floor, including shelving feet and anything mounted low on the wall that we need to cut in behind. We can work around a few heavy items, but the more of the slab that is open, the better the edges come out.

Whatever the room is, the sequence does not change: open the concrete, fix what needs fixing, then put down the system the slab will actually hold.

(205) 238-8111

Do you actually take jobs in Lincoln?

We do. Talladega County is part of our normal area and Lincoln is inside it. The same people who quote it install it.

What kind of work comes out of Lincoln?

Typically flake epoxy flooring, polished concrete and concrete resurfacing. Lincoln is newer subdivision construction and industrial buildings, and that is what drives the pattern.

Do you do commercial work in Lincoln?

Yes, and it is a real part of what we do here. With the Honda plant and speedway traffic locally, there are buildings whose floors have to survive a cleaning routine, not just look right.

Do you have to make a special trip to Lincoln?

Rarely. Talladega, Sylacauga are close by and we are through here regularly, so scheduling is not usually the hard part.

Is there a charge to come look at a Lincoln floor?

No, not inside our service area, and Lincoln is inside it. The visit is how we find out what the floor actually needs.

Can I see one of your floors in person?

Often yes, particularly commercial floors in buildings the public can walk into. Ask when you call.
