An overlay is a thin layer of polymer modified cement bonded over the slab you already have. Structurally the old concrete keeps doing its job. The overlay gives you a fresh surface to finish.
It is not a fix for a slab that has failed. If sections have dropped or a crack keeps moving with the seasons, that is a subgrade problem and an overlay will mirror it. We say so when we see it.

Flake Epoxy Flooring
Flake epoxy flooring is one of the systems Etowah County asks for most, typically on garages, porches, patios.
Broadcasting to refusal is what makes the finish consistent. A light scatter leaves thin spots that show as blotches once the clear coat goes over them.
The chip does real work beyond looks. It builds texture underfoot, and it hides the small variations in a slab that a solid color would put on display.

Polished Concrete
Polished concrete is one of the systems Etowah County asks for most, typically on retail floors, warehouses, lobbies.
A densifier goes down partway through the grit sequence. It reacts with the free lime in the slab and hardens the surface from within, which is what keeps a polished floor from dusting the way bare concrete does.
How the floor ends up looking depends on how deep we go. A light grind leaves the surface close to how it was poured. Going deeper opens the slab and exposes the sand, then the stone, so you get a terrazzo look out of concrete that was already there.
