Concrete Resurfacing
Talladega County sees plenty of concrete resurfacing, most often for driveways, patios, walkways.
An overlay is a thin layer of polymer modified cement bonded over the slab you already have. Structurally the old concrete keeps doing its job. The overlay gives you a fresh surface to finish.
It is not a fix for a slab that has failed. If sections have dropped or a crack keeps moving with the seasons, that is a subgrade problem and an overlay will mirror it. We say so when we see it.

Polished Concrete
A good share of our Talladega County work is polished concrete, on retail floors, warehouses, lobbies mainly.
How the floor ends up looking depends on how deep we go. A light grind leaves the surface close to how it was poured. Going deeper opens the slab and exposes the sand, then the stone, so you get a terrazzo look out of concrete that was already there.
Polishing is mechanical, not a coating. We run diamond tooling across the slab in steps, each one finer than the last, and the gloss comes from the concrete closing up rather than from anything we put on it.

Flake Epoxy Flooring
Across Talladega County, flake epoxy flooring comes up regularly. Usually that is garages, porches, patios.
The chip does real work beyond looks. It builds texture underfoot, and it hides the small variations in a slab that a solid color would put on display.
Flake goes on while the base coat is still wet. We broadcast it to refusal, which means we keep throwing chips until the floor will not take any more, then scrape back the loose material once it has set.
